This Privacy Policy explains how Cosmic (“we,” “us,” or “our”), an independent game studio based in Denver, Colorado, USA, handles information in connection with our mobile game The Ledger (the “App”) and our website at cosmicgamesstudio.com (the “Site”). By using the App or Site, you agree to the practices described here.

1. The short version

• The App is a single-player game. Your game progress is saved locally on your device — we do not collect or store it.
• The App shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, Google and its advertising partners collect certain data, such as your device's advertising identifier.
• If you join our launch email list on the Site, we collect the email address you provide.
• We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information we collect

Data stored on your device

The App stores your game progress (such as your character, cash, rank, and settings) locally on your device using standard on-device storage. This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you clear the App's data or uninstall it.

Information collected automatically for advertising

The App displays advertising provided by Google AdMob, including rewarded video ads you can choose to watch. To provide, personalize, and measure these ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process certain information, including:

• your device's advertising identifier (e.g., Android Advertising ID);
• approximate, non-precise location derived from your IP address;
• device and operating-system information (model, OS version, language, network); and
• information about your interaction with ads.

Information you provide to us

If you sign up for launch updates on the Site, you give us your email address. Sign-ups are processed by our form provider, and we use the address only to send you news about The Ledger. The App itself has no accounts and does not ask you to register.

3. How we use information

• To run the game and save your progress on your device.
• To display and measure advertising (through Google AdMob).
• To send you the launch announcement and occasional studio news, if you opted in.
• To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve our products.
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. How information is shared

We share information only as described here:

• Google AdMob and advertising partners — to serve and measure in-app ads, as described above.
• Our email service provider — to deliver launch emails to addresses you submit on the Site.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
• Business transfers — if the studio or its assets are acquired, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

5. Advertising choices

You can limit ad personalization at any time:

• On Android: open Settings → Google → Ads to delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization.
• In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, the App asks for your consent (via Google's consent tool) before showing personalized ads, and you may change your choice later.

6. Children's privacy

The Ledger contains mature, crime-themed content and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data retention and deletion

• On-device game data: remains until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
• Advertising data: retained by Google according to its own retention policies.
• Email address: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

EEA / UK (GDPR)

The right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data; the right to data portability; the right to withdraw consent; and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal bases include your consent (for personalized ads and marketing emails) and our legitimate interests (operating and improving our products).

California (CCPA/CPRA)

The right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell personal information for money. Some sharing of identifiers for personalized advertising may be considered “sharing” under California law; you can opt out using the Advertising Choices above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
